This week

We have had a great week this week in TC, I have been out and about in lots of different classes this week and it is fabulous to see so many hardworking children participating in and engaging in lessons. I was lucky enough to go and visit a school in Harrow on Tuesday and look at their incredible school. They are an oracy excellence school and I was blown away by their incredible speaking and listening skills and with oracy being one of our school improvement priorities this year I was keen to gain knowledge on how we can improve. One of the first things they did was build on the children's listening skills and this is something I am keen to develop at TC. One way that I will be doing so, is by adding in a speaking a listening task into the newsletter for you to talk through at home. So, to start us off, please do have a conversation with your child, would you rather live under water or in space and why? Please do send into the office any videos or conversation you had. The FOTC Annual General Meeting was held last night and I'm really looking forward to working with the newly elected members. We are looking forward to parents evening next week, if you have not booked an appointment please do so. It is so important to hear how your children are doing and what next steps they have, so please do ensure you have an appointment. Have a great weekend and I look forward to hearing how the conversations go.

Worship
On Monday, Father Stuart came to lead worship and spoke to the children about the bible story of Moses and the burning bush. The children thought about how Moses behaved and what qualities were seen. Today, Borneo led our class worship and wowed us with all their learning. Well done Borneo.

Absence reporting
This is just a quick reminder that if your child is absent from school due to illness you need to let the office know by 9.00am. This can either be via an email to admin@thomascoram.herts.sch.uk or a phone call (01442 866757). A valid reason for absence is required, stating that your child is unwell is not a valid reason.  If your child is absent and we don't know the reason why you will receive a text via Arbor. If you do not respond to this text it will be marked as unauthorised.
