How have you shown: Kindness, Resilience, Respect and Thankfulness this week?
This week at Thomas Coram
What an exciting week we have had with the prospect of change and all the new things to come next year. I always feel apprehensive at this time of year as we are coming to the end of a chapter and there is the thought of a new chapter starting. But I know, that change is inevitable and as humans, we are all able to deal with change well if we put our minds to it. Positive attitudes and encouragement help with that. I have told the children next year will be our best year yet at Team TC and I wholeheartedly believe that. We have our transition day in two weeks which will be a great opportunity to fully embrace next year.
We are aware that some children are going to the park in Velvet Lawn before school rather than coming straight in through the gates. This means that they are unsupervised and we are experiencing an increasing amount of incidents happening in the park before school. We have reminded the children of the expectation that they come straight into school and would appreciate the message being reiterated at home too.
Tomorrow we have our TC does Glasto and I am looking forward to seeing many families tomorrow and hoping for good weather. Have a lovely weekend.
Worship
On Monday, Father Stuart came in to lead worship on St Caedmon and the fact that Caedmon wanted to sing but was unable to, but was a great poet, yet he did not want to do that. We spoke about the fact we cannot all be good at everything and we have to relish those things we are good at. Mrs Bruguier led singing worship for Year 3 - 5 on Tuesday, whilst Year 6 practised their production songs. I am very much looking forward to seeing the production in full next week. Today we had Norway's class assembly - well done Norway for a great performance.

Road Safety advice for parents and carers
Next week, the Year 4 children will take part in Pedestrian Skills training provided by the Hertfordshire Active and Safer Travel Team, in preparation for September when the children move up to Year 5 and, in some cases, start walking to school independently. Understanding road safety is crucial for children’s wellbeing and independence. Not just for the Year 4 families, but for anyone either walking to and from school or with children who walk independently.

Author Visit - Nadia Finer Tuesday 1st July
We’re thrilled to share that author Nadia Finer will be visiting our school on Tuesday 1 July to talk about her book, Quiet Riot.
Quiet Riot challenges the idea that shyness is something to be "fixed" and instead celebrates the successes of softly spoken trailblazers—from athletes and writers to scientists and activists. Featuring 40 real-life stories, this book reassures children that they don’t need to change who they are to achieve great things—they just need to embrace their own quiet power.
During her visit, Nadia will speak to the children about what it feels like to be shy and how to overcome the fears that can sometimes hold us back. She will also be sharing powerful stories of shy superheroes—from Marcus Rashford and Taylor Swift to Lionel Messi and Beatrix Potter—proving that quiet voices can make a big impact.
 Order a Signed Copy! ✨
If you’d like to purchase a special hardback copy of Quiet Riot for your child, and have it signed by the author, please place your order by Monday 30 June using this link
