''Always give thanks for everything to God the Father" Ephesians 5.20
This week at Thomas Coram
It is truly starting to feel like autumn now with all the changing and falling leaves, we are very fortunate at TC to be able to witness this so beautifully. It has been another busy week here at TC. I was fortunate enough to go into Year 6 and look at their English work, The Night of the Gargoyles. I was amazed at the fantastic sentences the children were using and how focused and motivated they were. I also was lucky enough to listen to a Year 3 Maths lessons and was impressed by how engaged they were. I was transported back in time in Year 5, to The Vikings and I was really impressed with the sketching that they were doing. On Monday, we will be celebrating Black History Month, with a whole day focusing on influential and important black people and how what they have done, has shaped our lives. I am really looking forward to this as I think it will be an exciting day for the children. I am very much wanting to include diversity more within our curriculum and I am currently looking at our books across the school to ensure we have a range of diverse authors.
On Monday, we had a celebration worship giving out the stars of the week from the previous week and giving out House Point certificates. On Wednesday, our worship was led by Chloe and the children started to think about our next value of responsibility. On Friday, 6WT led our worship and looked at being responsible for your actions. I was thoroughly impressed with the message of the worship and thought the children were fantastic.
As the weather is getting cold and more unpredictable now, please do ensure the children are bringing a coat and jumper to school each day. Please also remember to label your child’s uniform, even just with a biro name on the label, this will then ensure it is able to be returned to your child.
The deadline for applying for a secondary school place closes on Monday 31 October 2022. Any applications received after this date will be considered as late. We strongly recommend that you apply before the deadline or you may not get your first choice of school. Information can be found here.

Children can come in their own clothes for a donation to FOTC. In order to guarantee a doughnut please order one here by 10am on Wednesday 19 October.
Yesterday evening FOTC held their annual AGM. In order to raise money to provide extra opportunities for your children we need volunteers to help with both organising and running events.
