Notices and Reminders

'Show respect to everyone' 1 Peter 2.17

Worship
Continuing with our value of Respect, we have been reflecting on how sometimes there is no right or wrong answer. Everyone has their own opinion or idea and we should respect this. 4KD and 4KS have led our whole school worships on this theme. On Friday, in our celebration assembly, Mrs Cutler handed out the final Stars of the Week, Head Teacher awards and pen licences.

This week in school
With one week left of this academic year, our pupils have immersed themselves in a range of activities which support their learning.

As part of their topic on The Romans, Year 4 children experienced life as Romans yesterday. They made Roman shields, created mosaics and baked honey cookies as well as dressing up as Romans. On Friday, they gave a presentation to their parents and carers on their learning throughout the year. Highlights included the poetry lesson in English studying The Highwayman and Edward Lear's  nonsense poetry, the trip to Cuffley and bread and kite making, learning about the digestive system and different techniques in art. The presentation closed with a beautiful rendition of 'Lean on me.'

Earlier in the week, our successful dance troupe performed at the Dacorum Sports Awards and met the Olympian, Amy Williams. Four Year 5 pupils attended a science fair at Ashlyns School with Mrs Giles to explain the work they had undertaken with her at Science Club.

Children in Year 6 delivered two fantastic performances of 'Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies' to their parents and carers, in addition to their performance to the school and Year 2 children from Swing Gate and Victoria Infant and Nursery Schools on Tuesday. £410 was raised in donations for Bowel Cancer UK.

As we enter the final week, can we remind you that lost property will be available to view in the dining room after school on Tuesday 19 July and before school on Wednesday 20 July. There is a plethora of unnamed school jumpers waiting to be claimed.

Captains Club September 2022
In response to feedback from parents (both current and new), we are currently investigating the possible expansion of Captains Club on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school sessions to accommodate the additional spaces requested. We shall inform all parents once we are in a position to do so.

Friends of Thomas Coram
