Notices and Reminders
''Every time I think of you I give thanks to my God" Philippians 1.3
This week at Thomas Coram
What an excellent, but fairly short week we have had. I was thrilled to walk around all the classrooms this week, to see the learning that was taking place across the school. It was lovely to see French being taught, Maths place value lessons and engaging English lessons, with some fantastic language choices by the children. The children were all so engaged with their learning and enjoyed explaining to me what they had been doing and why that piece of learning was important. We ended the week with European Languages Day, which the children loved! Mrs Rhodes did an amazing job organising everything and it was a great success. The Year 6's have been eagerly waiting for this week to end so that they are ready for PGL next week. I will be joining the children Monday - Thursday evening and I am thoroughly looking forward to it. Try to have a relaxing weekend Year 6, as we are in for an action-packed week!
Our phase worships thought about thankfulness this week and how we can thank the people in our lives. Father Joe led a fantastic worship where the children were fully engaged and motivated.
Our first coffee morning was a success and had a good show of parents, it was really great to talk informally to everyone. I would love to hold more informal drop in moments in school and that is something we are discussing as an SLT team so please watch this space.
We will be holding two open mornings in November to encourage parents with Year 2 children to apply for Thomas Coram as their Year 3 school in September 2023. I will do a short talk to the parents and then there will be a tour of the school. Please pass this on to any parents who you may know who have children in Year 2.
After School Clubs
Just a reminder that the children can only attend one after school club, they cannot attend a school led after school club and then Captain's Club. Also, if your child has been booked on to a club and they are not going to attend that day, please can you inform the office.
The school councilors received their badges today and were thrilled, during their meeting this week, they said they would like to do something further to mark the Queen's life, they would like to encourage children to decorate pebbles or stones from home, then bring them into the prayer garden.
