Notices and Reminders
"Encourage one another and build each other up." 1 Thessalonians 5.11
This week our whole school worships have been led by Mrs Cutler and the Year 6 Reflective Leaders, Father Joe and 4AP. We have been reflecting on how we can encourage one another. Using the words of St Paul, we are learning that the best way to live in friendship is to encourage one another rather than being critical and negative.
This week in school
Tuesday 26 April was a special day for Year 5 pupils as weeks of practice culminated in a wonderful performance at the Young Voices concert at Wembley. Over 4,000 children sang and danced along with Urban Strides. Our pupils sang with enthusiasm and were a credit to the school.
In PE lessons, the children have been practising their tennis skills outside on the tennis court, whilst Year 6 classes have been honing their cookery skills making Mexican salsa as part of their 'Global Food' unit. Year 4 children have started their science unit on 'Living things and their habitats', whilst in Year 3 the children have started learning how to produce a Wikipedia page as part of their 'We are co-authors' unit in Computing.
As part of the Young Leaders Award, the children in Year 5 are planning to brighten up our environment for the celebration of the Queen's 70th jubilee by 'yarn bombing' our school. For further information on how you can help, click here.
Next week, Year 4 children are off to Cuffley Camp for their 3 day residential visit with a packed itinerary full of bushcraft and team building activities, as well as more physical challenges such as orienteering, climbing and low ropes.
Mrs Labross, one of our learning support assistants leaves us today. We thank her for her contribution and send her best wishes for her next role.
Dogs at drop off
We know that some parents/carers take the opportunity to walk your dogs in the morning. Whilst dogs are not allowed on the school site, we would also request that you do not block the area around the pupil gate by leaving your dogs unattended; not only is this dangerous but some of our pupils are wary of dogs. Thank you for your co-operation.

Next Friday, 6 May, tickets will go on sale for our Jubilee party that is taking place on Friday 10 June. We are delighted to have Tambourine Jerk coming to entertain us and there will be a movie and jubilee activities for the children to enjoy. It will be a great night so get the date in your diary and make sure to book your ticket next week.
