Notices and Reminders

"Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive others." Colossians 3:13

Our theme this week has been 'Putting the past behind us'. In Mrs Cutler's Monday worship, two Year 6 reflective leaders used a role play to explore the meaning of bearing a grudge and the importance of putting the past behind us when we fall out with friends and classmates. On Wednesday, Father Joe used the story of Jacob and Esau to illustrate the importance of forgiveness and putting the past behind us. In our Friday worship, 4KS used the example of the Iron Cross, the Curz de Ferro or Cruz de Hierr, on the Camino Santiago, where people can leave things that they no longer need. It reminded us that we may be carrying things round that are holding us back.

This evening, our school is being represented at the Dacorum Schools Sport Network dance competition, being held at Everyone Active in Hemel. After worship on Friday, the children and staff were given a preview of the Year 5 and Year 6 performance based on the theme of sports.

Acts of Kindness
Our School Council has been discussing how the school family can best support those affected by the sad situation in Ukraine. The representatives have written a letter to all members of our school community which you can read by clicking the flag . Donations can be sent into school up to March 31.

Individually, our pupils have also been fundraising to support the refugees of Ukraine. Atlas in Year 4 (along with his friends) made lemonade and sold it for £1 per cup. Their efforts were matched by a family friend for every car horn honked to support the children. The total raised was £133.

This week in school
The beautiful weather over the past week has seen children in all year groups using the field for their PE lessons. They have enjoyed the challenge of our orientation course (paid for by the Sport Premium) as well as improving their football skills. After Easter, tennis and athletics skills will be the focus of the PE curriculum.

We said goodbye this week to one of our Afghan families, who have moved to Leeds. We wish both boys every success in their new school and thank Mohammed (Year 6) for his contribution to the School Council.

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Deery and her husband welcomed a baby boy, albeit a couple of weeks earlier than expected. We are also delighted to welcome back Mrs Griffiths from her maternity leave; she will be working three days a week after Easter.

End of term
The end of term is fast approaching and we are delighted to be able to hold our end of term service in St Peters.
