Notices and Reminders

''Every time I think of you I give thanks to my God" Philippians 1.3

This week at Thomas Coram
What a great week it has been this week. The sun has been shining and we have been able to use the outdoor space a lot this week. On Monday, we started with our Head's talk and Meet the Teacher. I laid out my vision for the school and what I envision the school will look like by July. I want to place a big emphasis on outdoor learning, active learning and the children having a growth mindset. The children across the school have been busy learning about Africa and thinking about what makes Africa so special and unique. Year 5 started their first Hockey sessions this week and although at first there was some fear about it, the children had fantastic lessons and really enjoyed it. In my worship today, I also introduced the children to a bee colony, that were kindly lent to us by Mrs Robert's husband. We discussed how important all the roles in the bee colony are and how everyone helps each other, like what we want to happen at Thomas Coram.

Worship
This week, our whole school worship was led by myself. We looked at who in school we are thankful for and why, we also thought about people at home who we are thankful for. Father Joe led a fantastic worship on celebrating the Queen's life, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Coffee Morning
We will be holding a coffee morning on Friday 23 September to raise money for Macmillan, this will be a great opportunity to come along to school, donate a small amount of money and see some of our Year 5 and 6 children practising their language skills in celebration of European Languages Day. I will also be around for an informal chat and it will enable me to get to know more parents.

Y6 PGL trip to Liddington
Please note the final payment for our Y6 PGL trip to Liddington is now due unless alternative payment terms have previously been agreed with the school. Everyone is really looking forward to it.
