Notices and Reminders

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

This week at Thomas Coram
It was so great to see so many families yesterday. The school's displays are looking fantastic and look so creative with all the children’s work. A huge thank you to all staff for putting in such a big effort with making the school look so great. I loved the opportunity to read to the children and I am hoping after last night, the children are inspired to read some of the stories they heard. I know having spoken to lots of families, it was a fantastic experience and one we hope to do again. I was asked could we do it every night! We were also fortunate to have Angela Freer come in to do workshops with some of the children and hold a whole school assembly. All of the children I spoke to were so enthusiastic and eager to read her book. It is great to have authors in school and for the children to be able to think creatively. A big thank you to Angela from all of TC for coming in and sharing her passion.

Worship
On Monday, we looked at our value: perseverance. We spoke about Jeremiah and how difficult it can be to continue to spread good words when people are not listening to you. On Wednesday, Chloe led worship on  her experience in persevering to complete the Berkhamsted half Marathon. On Friday, 6WT led our worship thinking about perseverance and how to keep going.

Attendance
We are very keen for all our pupils to have regular, punctual attendance at school. This enables children to be in the best position to progress with their education and fulfil their potential. An average attendance of 80% or less, across a child's school career, adds up to missing a whole 2 years from school. Being late for school, also reduces learning time. If your child is 5 minutes late every day, they will miss three days of learning each year. Please see the below diagram of attendance in relation to lost hours, days and weeks.

Recent Ofsted inspections have focused heavily on safeguarding, if you need to come onto the school site, please do so via the school office (if it is not a drop off or pick up time) as we cannot have parents walking through the building unless they are accompanied by staff.
