Notices and Reminders

"Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.' Colossians 3:12

Worship
This week, our whole school worships have been led by Father Stuart and 4RD. 4RD shared the words from St Paul: "Clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." The children explained how we could show our compassion for others in school and how putting on our school uniform each morning can help us to imagine we are clothing ourselves with the attitude of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. On Wednesday, we lit the first candle of our Advent Wreath.

This week in School
The school also held an RE afternoon on the the theme of Light on Monday. The children investigated the symbolism of light in the different festivals of light celebrated by Christians, Muslims, Jews and Hindus.

This week we welcomed parents and carers from Victoria and Swing Gate infant schools for our second Open Morning. Visitors were proudly led around the school by our Year 6 Leaders, who also answered many questions about the school day.

Our parent/teacher association, The Friends of Thomas Coram, has been very busy. Our annual Christmas Fair was organised differently this year, with each year group having an afternoon Christmas Fair in school during the school day. The children dressed down for their respective day, with many wearing their Christmas jumpers. They enjoyed a toy tombola, a sweetie lucky dip, decorated a Christmas tree decoration and finished off the afternoon's activities with a Christmas disco. They all went home with a present from the FOTC, wrapped and ready to take home to go under the tree. We'd like to thank all the volunteers who have given up their time to organise the afternoons for the children. They enjoyed the activities immensely; it was lovely to see that the magic of Christmas has not been lost this year.

Christmas Post Box
From next week, our school Christmas Post Box will be in operation. If pupils would like their cards delivered for free, they should place them in the post box in the dining room. Please make sure the full name and class to be delivered to is written on the envelope. A delivery will take place daily to each classroom until Friday 17 December.

Christmas Lunch
A reminder that our Christmas lunch is Monday 20 December. Children can wear a Christmas Jumper and/or hat on that day. Please don't forget to send your child with a packed lunch if a school lunch was not ordered.

Attendance
Attendance is vitally important in ensuring the children make progress and we would like to congratulate pupils in 4KD (best class); Year 4 and Year 6 (best year group) and Luther King (best house) for their excellent attendance during the month of November. Year 4 has the best attendance so far this academic year.
