Notices and Reminders

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3

This week at Thomas Coram
We have had a great week at TC this week, we have had two very successful open mornings, with lots of parents attending. All of the parents commented on how hard the children were working in lessons, how polite they were and how fantastic their Year 5 and 6 tour guides were. A huge thank you to those Year 5 and 6 students, who were fantastic and so knowledgeable when showing the parents around. The parents were lucky enough to see a Year 3 Art lesson, in the art room looking at different animals and creatures. I also went to a Year 3 lesson this week and loved hearing all about their Guided Reading book, Rabbit and Bear, Rabbit’s Bad Habit’s. The children found the book funny and engaging and I really enjoyed hearing the things Rabbit got up too. I was also fortunate enough (some may say unfortunate) to teach a Year 5 coding lesson this week, it tested my skills of coding, and I had some expert Year 5 children to help me with the coding. Thank you to everyone who wore spots for CIN we raised over £220.

Worship
On Monday, we looked at our new value of Trust and what trust means and why it is important. We thought about who we can trust in our lives and who was important to us. On Wednesday, we spoke about the meaning of trust and why we need people in our lives who we trust.

World Cup
I was presented with a petition signed by 65 children from across the school, that would like to celebrate the start of the World Cup on Monday and be allowed to watch the England match at 1:00pm. As the Year 6’s were so good with their persuasive language, I have decided that if children would like to watch the match, they will be able to go to the hall in the afternoon to watch it altogether. If children do not want to watch it, then they can stay in their classrooms to complete another activity with their class teacher. I am hoping if we are all in the hall, we can really cheer England on and win our first match. The children are expected to come into school in their school uniform.

RE Day
On Tuesday 6th December, TC will be having a special RE day to celebrate the birth of Jesus and Christmas, the children will be completing different projects throughout the day, which we would like to invite you in to see at 2:50pm that afternoon. We will open the classrooms and you can then come in to see your child’s work. Dismissal will be the same and you will need to wait outside the classrooms for your child to be dismissed at 3:25pm. If you have children in more than one class, you will be able to go to each of the classes during that time. We think it will be a great opportunity to demonstrate our work and start to invite parents in. I hope to see as many as you as possible and will give more information closer to the time.
