Notices and Reminders
''Every time I think of you I give thanks to my God" Philippians 1.3
What a fantastic first week I have had at Thomas Coram. I have been amazed at how polite and welcoming everyone in the school community has been and I am so excited for my future here. It was a pleasure to welcome our children and their parents and carers back through the school gates this week. The first day ran very smoothly and I know the children are all happy to be back and are feeling relaxed and settled in. A huge well done to our new Year 3 pupils who have stepped up to being in a new school and new routines with such ease.
I led our first whole school worship on Thankfulness (our value for this half term) this week and we thought about who we can be thankful for and what those people do for us. We revisited our school vision and core values. We also reflected on the sad news received yesterday, regarding the Queen. We thought about the Queen's life and all she has done for the country.
Meet the teacher
We will be holding our face to face Meet the Teacher evening on Monday 12 September. Miss Hill will be doing a welcome speech outlining her vision for the school for Year 3 & 4 parents at 6:20pm and Year 5 & 6 parents at 6:50pm. Teachers in Years 3 & 4 will be meeting with parents and carers at 6.30pm and Year 5 & 6 teachers will meet with parents and carers at 7:00pm. This will be in your child's class and there will be direction and help to ensure you know where the classrooms are.
The online application system has opened for parents and carers of children in Year 6 to apply for a secondary school place for entry in September 2023. All Year 6 parents and carers were sent a copy of the 'Moving on 2022' leaflet this week. The application deadline is 31 October 2022.
