Notices and Reminders
"Always be thankful".1 Thessalonians 5.16
This week our whole school worships have been led by Miss Williamson, Olivia and 5CT. We have been reflecting on how it is important to be thankful even when we go through difficult times, and how music can help lift our spirits.
World Mental Health Day
As a school, we are committed to supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of our children. Next Friday (9 October) is World Mental Health Day and we are encouraging our children and staff to wear a yellow accessory (e.g socks, hair band,) to help raise awareness of mental health. Children should wear their school uniform/PE kit as usual.
Secondary transfer application
There are four weeks left to apply for a secondary school place for September 2021. If you have not already applied please go to www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions. The deadline for applications is 31 October 2020. After this date your application is considered as late and this could affect your school choices.

School Games Recognition Award
Congratulations to the PE department led by Mrs Thomson and Miss Minter. Our school has been awarded the School Games Recognition Award for competitions completed during Autumn and Spring Terms 2019-2020. This week, all pupils in Years 4-6 will be bringing home their medal for their contribution to the Schools' Race for Life at the end of last term. We were delighted to have so many children involved, both in school and at home.
Black History Month
As Black History Month begins, our children are learning about four figures who have had an impact on our world in different ways.
Year 3: Walter Tull (footballer)
Year 4: BB King (musician)
Year 5: Katherine Johnson (Mathematician and physicist)
Year 6: Paulette Wilson (Rights activist)
The children will be displaying their learning in the form of art work, poetry and even song lyrics.
Our School Council reps are being taught how to sign using British Sign Language by Mrs Forbes. They, in turn, will be teaching their class how to sign. So far, they have been taught how to sign 'Hello, Good morning and Good afternoon.'
For parents wishing to access the Wisepay mobile app the organisation code is 9685599. Don't forget to check your child's balance and keep it topped up if necessary.
SIMS Parent Lite
Please don't forget to have a look at SIMS parent lite to ensure the details we hold on your child(ren) are correct. Please see below for some instructions. We are aware that some parents are having issues with the system. If you experience problems please contact the school office. If you would prefer a paper copy please let the school office know.
Nut free school
Please remember that we are a nut free school and no nuts of any description (including Nutella) should be brought into school including snack bars. A Nutella based snack was recently brought into school into a class with a pupil who has a severe nut allergy. Please make sure you check ingredients carefully. Thank you for your help with this.
