Notices and Reminders
"Always be thankful".1 Thessalonians 5.16
This week our whole school worships have been lead by Mr Halls, Olivia and 4RD. We have been reflecting on how thankful we are for the wonderful world in which we live.
We have been particularly thankful for the beautiful weather over the past week; it has certainly benefitted the sixty year pupils who have been taking their Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability training. For those Year 6 children who have passed Bikeability and wish to cycle to school, can parents and carers please complete the Cycle to School permission form which is available under the 'Forms' tab in the 'Downloads' section of our school website.
Meet the teacher
Last week, we informed you of the Meet the Teacher presentations available to view on the Castle Federation YouTube channel. Thank you to those of you who have taken the time to watch these as well as email your questions to the school office. As mentioned, our parent consultation meetings will take place before half term and you will be sent further information on how to book later this month.
Ashlyns Virtual Open Evening
Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, as well as their parents and carers, are invited to take part in Ashlyns Virtual Open Evening. A personal invitation from Mr Shapland has been sent to all our pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 to view the videos and resources from 1 October on the Ashlyns School website.
Covid-19 Risk Assessment
At the start of term, the school shared its COVID-19 Risk Assessment with you. This has now been reviewed in the light of the Government's guidelines on face coverings, as well as guidance on music and drama. This revised risk assessment is available to view and read under the 'Health & Safety' tab in the 'Downloads' section of our school website.
Drop off and collection
Please remember to observe the recommended 2m distancing when waiting outside school and only to send one adult per child. This is particularly important in the light of recent government advice around 'the rule of 6'.
Your child will be bringing home their proof photograph today. Van Cols are returning to collect any orders on Friday 25 September so please make sure to return your order by Thursday 24 September at the latest.
The online application system has opened for parents and carers of children in Year 6 to apply for a secondary school place for entry in September 2021. The application deadline is 31 October 2020. All the information you need is available at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions.
