Thomas Coram is a thriving Church of England junior school for 380 pupils in the 7 to 11 age range. It is a Voluntary Aided school in the St. Albans Diocese and Local Authority of Hertfordshire. Our school is part of the Berkhamsted Schools’ pyramid and serves a mixed catchment.
The school is located on the Hemel Hempstead side of Berkhamsted and has easy access to London and the Chilterns. It serves the local community and surrounding villages.
The school, built in 1970, was originally a purpose-built middle school and became a school for upper primary age pupils in September 2013. It provides generous areas for general teaching and a range of specialist facilities including a science lab, food technology area, art studio, drama studio, music centre with two practise rooms, an ICT suite, gym/hall with changing facilities and a fine learning resource centre. Offices, staffroom, storage areas and a canteen are in our single storey building.
Outside there are environmental areas, good playing fields, solid based cricket nets, playgrounds etc. The school is well resourced to meet the requirements of all our pupils.
